Having a relationship with your husband or wife involves getting to know them and if you want to follow Jesus and have a relationship with Him, you ned to get to know Him. That’s why it’s vital to read and study the Holy Bible to learn about the character God, understand His ways, and plan for redemption and His love for mankind. The Bible contains 66 books, which are depicted in two parts, the Old Testament, before Christ and the New Testament after Jesus Christ’s birth. The Bible includes the four gospels, meaning Good News, which includes the accounts of Jesus and His disciples as told by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Pilgrim’s progress

Described as the second highest-selling book of all time, following the bible, Pilgrim’s Progress written by John Bunyan is said to be “a brilliant allegory for Christian life”. First published in 1678, the book was written during Bunyan’s imprisonment for refusing to denounce his Christian faith. Pilgrim’s Progress tells the story of Christian, a man literally weighed down with the burden of his sins, depicted as an enormous sack on his back. Despite to remove this burden, Christian leaves his town, the City of Destruction and sets off on a quest to find the Celestial City and his encounters make for a marvellous and most fascinating tale.
